why:

I've been taking photos on and off since my Dad (check out his excellent sports photography here) first got me interested when I was 12 years old.  At first I mainly just toyed with cameras and never really put much thought into taking good pictures.  I would mainly take snaps while on mountaineering trips or when travelling, some of my favourite shots have been from trips to India, Peru, and Tunisia.

I set up this photoblog after reading an article on Slashdot and subsequently visiting photoblogs.org.  It occurred to me that a lot of the time I'd just look at the headlines and photos in newspapers and on BBC News, and photoblogs consist almost entirely of just that!  I was immediately hooked with photoblogs such as chromasia and I knew that I wanted to try and make my own.  I now have plenty of motivation to take more photos and hopefully with some (constructive) comments I can improve along the way.
